How did randy die in scream 2?

He was talking to Ghostface on the phone then when he got close to the van Ghostface pulled him in the van and smash against the vans window then scream throw him on the floor of the van and stabbed him repeatedly and got out the van and sneaked away then gale and dewey and a someone else came with them then they open the van door and saw randy dead on the van floor with blood all over the place and all 3 of them fainted
