Great care should be taken when thinking of buying a dog from a website. It is all too easy for someone to scam a potential puppy buyer out of a lot of money. It is not uncommon for such internet scammers to pretend to have pets for sale but don't actually have any.

When buying a pet online, do all the necessary checks to make sure they are genuine. i.e. get the breeder's landline telephone number and speak to them that way, make sure you go and visit the pups or dog at their home at least once. If you are buying a puppy, make sure you meet and interact the dam and sire to check temperament and health. Ask to see proof of genetic testing and the parent's lineage. Check with your kennel club and local breed clubs to see if they know of the breeder - they will also be able to give you advice on adopting.

NEVER send any money online, only hand it over once you are happy with the pup/dog and breeder. This also ensures that you are getting a dog that is the same as advertised and is otherwise healthy.
