I'm actually in the middle of replacing mine. From what the mechanic told me, I had thought it would be there when I removed the bottom, large radiator hose from the engine beneath the front of the car. It's not right there - I'm not very car savvy - though if you ALSO remove the black metal part connecting between that hose and the engine, I'm told it IS there.

Answer:The thermostat on all Cabriolets is located inside the thermostat housing, which is attached to the water pump:. The lower radiator hose attaches to the thermostat housing.
