Ihave a 1998 Chevy 1500 CK pickup with a 5.0 engine what would cause the engine to cut out when engine raises to 3000 rpms?

If youre lucky it would probably be a plugged fuel/air filter or perhaps a pinched off fuel hose. if youre unlucky its something bad
