To consider this problem, we should research the history of the U.K.

The actuality of British empire is the result of fight between the parliament and the King in 1640 A.D.

Some historian believe that the Empire is redundant in the British. But I can not image what will happen in the British without their Queen.

There are many reasons for why the British Empire was good and bad, personally I thought it was a good thing! We went over to all these countries and brought them civilization and understanding. At first in America, the Indians used to walk around naked so when the British came over and discovered the country, they brought not only civilization but power to that country. Look at India now, they have a wonderful country and have the same laws with what we set them hundreds of years ago, because they agreed with what we did. At that time, hundreds of years ago, the Indians were given a choice, they weren't forced to change there ways, they weren't told that they would die if they didn't obey, they simply went along with what we said because they believed that it was a good idea. So you see, Britain did do some things that some people regret and are ashamed of there country for but they have no reason to, for back then is different to what it is today and we can not judge our country on what happened a long time ago.

Britain also brought other supplies other to India and traded. America and all the other countries are better because of what Britain did a long time ago. Besides, we help America and lots of other countries today with money and other things. ----------------------------------------

It should only be kept in mind that empires are usually created through warfare. The British Empire has a complex history of involvement all over the globe. There was a great deal of competition among European nations for control over parts of the world and the game of empire building could get very dirty. everyone involved, including the British, had to play dirty to assure success. That is how the world worked. Having an empire was a popular persuit and there were great advantages to it, as can be seen in the privilege and prosperity of the anglophone nations today. These obvious advantages will also help to explain why certain nations, like Germany, France, and so many others throughout history were willing to risk very destructive wars of conquest.

Creating an empire is a bad business. Apart from war it involves many other devious acts. The British Empire was not an exception to this. Sure it created a world order into which today, everyone has settled into, so today we can discuss the things it put into place for us and the world, but the fact remains that empire is forged through war, which causes pain and sadness as it moulds the world to its ideals.

So the British Empire was bad in many ways, but it moulded and casted our reality today and the many things we now view as being good.

(P.S. Philosophical arguments can be made against saying that it was a good thing that certain native peoples were converted into wearing clothes. who says wearing clothes is good? perhaps it is decadent?)
