Moral turpitude is not a definition that applies to any single category, or type, of offense, but generally refers to conduct that shocks the public conscience. Offenses such as murder, voluntary manslaughter, kidnaping, robbery, and aggravated assaults involve moral turpitude. However, simple assaults not involving dangerous weapons or evil intent do not involve moral turpitude.
