Does the Quetzal live on its own or in groups?

The Quetzal generally prefers to live alone or in pairs, especially during the breeding season. Outside of that time, they may be seen in small groups, but they are not highly sociable birds. Their solitary nature helps them defend their territory and find food more efficiently in their forest habitats.
