After apartheid, the African National Congress (ANC) aimed to address educational disparities in South Africa by promoting equal access to education for all racial groups. However, historically, white South Africans, particularly those of European descent, had greater access to quality educational opportunities. Post-apartheid reforms have sought to rectify these imbalances, but significant disparities in educational access and quality remain among different ethnic groups. The focus has been on enabling previously disadvantaged communities, particularly Black South Africans, to gain better educational opportunities.
