Male mosquitoes have never been known to suck blood, because their mouth parts is not modified to pierce and suck blood from their host.
Whereas, some male butterflies and other non blood feeders insects showed some shifting in their feeding behaviour to suck blood. They use their sucking mouth parts to suck blood from pools produced from wounded animals. Studies still undergoing to understand this phenomena, and some other phylogenetic investigations concluded that those blood suckers may be descended from plant sap suckers ancestors.
Male mosquitoes commonly feed on nectar and pollen. Only female mosquitoes feed on blood because they require the nutrients found in blood to develop their eggs.
