It has allowed companies and government to influence public opinion about a product or person. With the emergence of broadband technologies, advertising on television has expanded into sponsorship of listings and songs. All these benefits with the mass population watching and owning a television, I think it's safe to say that television is the biggest advertising commodity available to a marketer in the history of marketing.
