How long can a police officer follow before pulling you over for a speeding ticket in Indiana?

We all are part of a society, policemen are in service of public, there is no point making one run when you have vilolated the traffic rules (they note down your vehicle number anyway).

Added: For as long he needs to/wants to or until they can find a safe place to poull you over. (note: Maybe they were waiting for the computer response to come back before pulling you over)
