How did 29 palms get its name?

29 Palms, located in California, derives its name from the 29 palm trees that were originally found in the area near a natural spring. The name was suggested by William "Bill" Keys, a local homesteader, in the early 20th century when he and others were working to establish the community. The unique landscape and the palm trees made the area a notable landmark, ultimately leading to its adoption as the town's name.
