How many people live in poverty in the us?

Several milion and it depends on what it means to be poor. For instance a working family of 4 ( 2 parents and 2 children) with a income under 31,000 a year is considered poor today. There are 25 million children who are homeless in this country, not to mention the numerous street population. In these cases there can't be an accurate count because many of these people move around and have no addresses from day to day.
