The aorta is the largest artery in your body, it starts from the left ventricle of your heart it travels to the base of your neck to a point called the aorta arch where at its peak it splits into three more arteries the first the brachiocephalic artery then he left CCA (Common carotid artery,) then the left subclavian artery . The aorta after spliting into three travels down your body where it splits into the femoral arteries that supply the legs and then split further into the popliteal and lastly the dorsal pedis.

Hope this is what you are looking for and to make it clear the aorta does not moves i was using the term travels to explain the journey of the oxygenated blood .
