No medical association (AMA, AAP, AFP, etc.) recommends routine infant circumcision and most insurance companies as well as some states refuse coverage for it because it's purely cosmetic. Yes, they are strongly slanted away from circumcision but after my research I have found them to be very accurate and comprehensive.

Most importantly, remember: it's his penis and he very well may want to be intact as many, many men do. Circumcision is permanent like a tattoo and it is best left to the owner of the penis to decide if he wants his body altered (unless medically necessary) once he is an adult. I say this as the daughter-in-law of an adult-circumcised man (due to complications from being retracted as an infant) who wishes he could get his foreskin back, the wife (and ex-wife) of men who had complications from their circumcisions - one of which resulted in buried penis, and the mother of one circumcised and one intact boy as well as an intact daughter.
