How do snappers breathe?

Uh, they kinda are turtles, that live in the water, and so they have lungs, which means they have nostrils, which means they stick their head out of the water when they are tired of holding their breath. They get some new air, and they hold their breath and go back under to eat or something until they feel the need to have more oxygen again
