Why did Angela try to kill herself in the westing game?

Angela didn't like the life style she was known for, and everyone thought she was a perfect little princess. Down, deep into her you'd find a girl who didn't want to be engaged, she wanted to be a doctor. She thought Denton was mean, but what mother said she did. Angela wasn't the perfect girl she was on the outside. She was trying to go like Violet Westing, they both tried to kill themselves (One succeeded) and they were both girls that were Mommy's Angels. They both didn't like the men their mothers "picked" for them.
