What kind of mother is Kiche in White Fang?

To White Fang, Kiche is his role model, someone whom he can trust and look up to. However, when she leaves but then returns with a litter of pups, the way Kiche attacked White Fang changes how he felt for her. He then knows that he no longer needs her in his life, and he should just move on.
