the body of diploblastic animals consists of two layers of cells, ectoderm and endoderm. there is a jelly like mesenchyme or mesoglea, between the two layers, which in most cases is non cellular.

the body of triploblastic animals is made of three layers ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm.
