Salmon should not be left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours while thawing. If the temperature is above 90°F (32°C), this time is reduced to just 1 hour. To ensure food safety, it's best to thaw salmon in the refrigerator, in cold water, or in the microwave if cooking immediately afterward.
