The American Market currently has a preference for large sized (1000cc and over) cruisers that have V-Twin engine. There is a further segment that has a preference for bikes that can be customized to no end. The Honda V4 - while smoother and more efficient than a V-Twin, does not fit into this current market. Sitting on a Magna feels like a sports car engine grafted onto a cruiser frame. It is certainly fast and free from vibrations of a V-Twin - but it isn't what the market wants right now. Even the 750cc Magna can outperform many V-Twins over 1000cc. But the cruiser market isn't about performance or smoothness. The Magna is a "better mousetrap", but it isn't customizable nor does it make that chug-chug-chug sound of a V-Twin.
