The fact of the fracture does not, in itself, void your insurance. However, it may make it harder physically to drive, especially if you have a car with a manual transmission on which you have to depress a clutch. You may thereby be more "clumsy" in the operation of the car, which could result in a collision.

If you do have a collision, the other party may claim that you were negligent. Stated otherwise, he/she may claim that you knew or should have known of the deficit in your driving ability because of your ankle injury and should not have been driving.

All other things being equal, your liability insurer should defend you in a resulting claim and pay those damages for which you are legally liable according to the terms of the insurance policy.
