'Newspaper reports couldn't tell us much about the experiences of soldiers in the trenches because you couldn't always trust them as they did not always tell the truth because they didnt want to damage morale ( morale is the hope, and positive spirit that the public have). The information was eith lies or vague with only few true facts.
