Was the ending of the novel Pride and Prejudice satisfactory?

In terms of movie endings, there are 2 different movie endings for the 2005 version. One is not more original than the other - rather, one is the British ending and the other is the US ending. In the British ending, the movie closes with the scene of Mr. Bennet laughing and saying, "I'm quite at my leisure!" The US ending closes with Elizabeth and Darcy kissing in front of Pemberley.
