How do you tell your turtle is a boy or girl?

Male turtles have longer claws, brightly colored eyes, narrower shells, longer tails, concave plastrons, and the cloaca is located farther down the tail.

Female turtles have short claws, not-as-brightly colored eyes, wider shells, short tails, flat or rounded tails, and the cloaca is tucked up under the shell at the top of the tail.
