Do box turtles blink

Box turtles do not blink in the same way that many mammals do, as they lack eyelids. Instead, they have a protective, transparent scale called a spectacle or nictitating membrane that covers their eyes. This membrane helps keep their eyes moist and protected from debris. When needed, they can move their eyes beneath this membrane to maintain vision.
