Remove Mercedes Benz ashtray

All Mercedes Benz front ashtrays can be removed, if there is no slide button to unlock the ashtray it just needs to be pulled out. They all snap into place so sometimes you have to tug a little bit.

But how do you remove the entire unit for the center console? That's a bit more involved and probably what the question was all about. Anyone know the steps or have a schematic?
