How do you train a dog to jump over a hurdle in dog agility?

There are a number of things that can be done to train a dog in agility. One can use a bar to teach a dog to jump and just place it on something that allows it to fall if the dog knocks it. One can also use things such as tunnels or placing a board between two chairs for the dog to learn to walk across it.
