A person should choose a job based on the person's:
- Education. Often, we need further education to do a job.
- Skills. Often, we need education or training to sharpen skills.
- Interests. Not all jobs are "interesting", so you must fit a job to what interests you.
- Earning capacity. Most teens start with low-paying jobs as stepping stones to a better job after gaining education /and/or skills.
- Job security. Long term employment is important for many reasons.
- Benefits and extras. Many people do jobs that offer little benefits. It is up to you to assess what you value the most and decide what you can live with--and without.
