How does Demi Lovato come up with her songs?

On her debut album "Don't Forget", the Jonas brothers helped her write some of the songs, so she had some inspiration there. But in her new album "Here We Go Again" she has said that she's written all the songs by herself, and I'm guessing she's able to use her own experiences to write her songs.
