Tell a bunch of people you are going to quit, so that you will have moral support and also some incentive (pride). Then get "the patch," some toothpicks or Chewing Gum for the oral fixation, and follow the patch directions. The longer you wait, the harder it will be.
Avoid hanging out with people who smoke, and reward yourself every week with something nice, like dinner in one of those non-smoking restaurants that you used to have to avoid. Enjoy your freedom.
