Is Mark Potok related to chaim potok?

I asked him this question by email and his response was as follows:

Daniel: Yes, my father, also a writer, met Chaim Potok once and they decided they had to be fourth or fifth cousins, but they didn't definitively figure out the exact relationship. They were all Jews, of course, who fled Poland. Thanks for your interest! Mark
