What is the true story behind lone survivor?

"Lone Survivor" is based on the true story of Operation Red Wings, a failed Navy SEAL mission in Afghanistan in 2005. The operation aimed to capture or kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah, but it was compromised when the SEAL team was discovered by enemy forces. Outnumbered and outgunned, three of the four SEALs were killed in the ensuing battle, while the lone survivor, Marcus Luttrell, managed to escape and was eventually rescued with the help of local villagers. Luttrell later chronicled his harrowing experience in a book, which was adapted into the 2013 film.
