Big countries such as Germany, USSR and the USA were not members of the League

Each member state were separate nations rendering them to act on self-centered aims and pursue selfish interest.

Britain and France un able to take the lead, unable to control the Manchurian Crisis or the Abyssinian Crisis, in fear of Japan and Italy.

Britain and France were unable to protect Lithuania in hope of keeping Poland as a defense against Germany.

Didn't have a standing army, but relied on member states to provide military support suitably.
