How did the stone of destiny got stolen?

The Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, was stolen in 1950 by a group of Scottish nationalist students. They believed that returning the stone to Scotland would symbolize the nation's independence and heritage. The students successfully removed it from Westminster Abbey, where it had been kept since 1296, but it was later recovered by authorities and returned to England. In 1996, the stone was finally returned to Scotland, where it is now housed at Edinburgh Castle.
