Clorazepate (Tranxene) is a rather unique medication. Whereas most benzodiazepines active ingredients act directly on the nervous system, clorazepate's effects are due to it's metabolites (chiefly nordiazepam, a metabolite of Valium). Valium is the longest acting common benzo. Tranxene is likely to have a longer half-life than Valium, but most studies to find how long it remains in your system have been inconclusive. Research has suggested a range of anywhere from 36-200+ hours. Literally days.
