While I am happy to see technical advancements that will improve driver vision, I am not so sure the above or the move to silicon blades is much more than a move to gain even more profit from this abundant market.
We all have to realise that massive consumption of wiper blades through any means is money and time lost and a huge pile added to pollution. When it is needlessly done then we need to think about consequences.
Even turning to recyclable silicon is useless when you look about at the rubbish piles and see how much recyclable glass, cardboard, paper and plastic is dumped already.
