No, not all the time. Most people turn the main light off at night and turn on a lower light/heating lamp on for them during the night so they don't get too cold. Please note, that most pet lizards are adapted to cope with a 5-10 Degree F drop in temperature at night so a general cooldown in their living space is fine.
