How did Harry Potter's parents make all their money?

Just as Harry inherited a vault full of gold from his parents, James inherited from his parents. It is mentioned a couple of times though the series that most of the old pure blood families were quite well off. The Potters were included. They were a pureblood family that dated back some time. Their riches passed from one generation to the next.
