How do you know if it is an authentic channel bag?

obviously, check the label. also, check the quality: are the seams even and tightly sewn? the leather real? the hardware clean and untarnished? also, is the style of the bag actually a chanel style? the producers of fakes are trying to sell as much as possible, and they know many people will buy a "designer" bag without much knowledge of the fashion house it supposedly belongs to.
