What inspired Shigeru Myamoto to create The Legend Of Zelda series?

Shigeru Miyamoto often took walks in a forested area near his home in his childhood, which is what he says inspired him to the setting of the Zelda series. It is often quoted that he once happened upon a lake where he did not expect one to be, and he strove to recreate that feeling of discovery in the games.
