Proteins are made of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), nitrogen (n), and oxygen (O). The protein that we take in like from our meats and grains help provide us with energy, the development and growth of our bones, muscle, and tissue mass.

the carbs that we intake in our body are used as the "fast fuels"

Carbs are made of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O). The first thing our body uses to get our energy would be our carbs. When your body is low on energy or sugar,

the amino acids (building blocks) from the protein create or turn into the sugar that we need to give our bodies energy.

Lipids are also made up of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O), but have the littlest number of (O) molecules. Everything has a backup plan. For that extra boost of energy that we need, our body turns to the lipids. The body will use the first source of the carbs energy. Once the carbs run out, then it turns to the lipids as an enhanced source of energy.

Proteins are very important to our body. It helps to make up our structure and most of our bodies function. What we intake from our food would be considered the energy source for our bodies. That is why we have the food pyramid to rely on as a source of help.
