- Unhook the negative battery terminal.
- Lift the car.
- Slide under the car.
- Remove the brace that holds the intake manifold. See photo.
- Remove the oil filter. Have a small cup ready to capture 1 ounce of oil.
- Unscrew the solenoid power supply from the post. Use pliers.
- Unplug the harness from the solenoid socket that comes from the battery. Use a screw driver.
- Unscrew the bolt #1 from the bottom of the engine that holds the starter. You will need a 6 inch or longer swivel angle joint. See photo.
- From the top of the engine, unscrew the ground wire bolt that runs from the battery to engine housing. It is also the bolt #2 that attaches the starter to the engine housing. You will need a socket extension. See photo.
- The starter comes off.
- Installation is the reverse of the removal process.
