Yes. Drug overdoses often involve excruciating pain for several minutes, until either the person is unconcious or dead from the drug's other effects.

There was a time when common prescription medicine was pretty painlessly lethal, especially when combined with alcohol. That time, however, is passed, and those medications are not readily available nowadays.

Drug Overdosing will kill you , cause permanent brain and/or liver damage , and if you escape that, there is always having your stomach pumped and being court-ordered to a psychiatrist and possible criminal charges, as attempted suicide is against the law in most places in the US.
