Who decided what would happen to the women in ancient china?

The restrictions on women was not really established until the Tang dynasty had fallen. Men is most likely to be the person to decide what happens to the women unless if the other women has a position in the court.

Three Obedience and Four Virtues of Women:

1. Obey the father before she gets married

2. Obey the husband after she gets married

3. Obey the son(s) after the husband dies
