There is an organization called Wolf. It is non-profit, and it is a rescue, "True Sanctuary" for the Wolf and Wolf-Dogs regected by normal shelters because these animals are not eligible for adoption. They estimate that 90 percent of the wild wolf- dogs kept as pets are dead within the first two years of life. Not because of bad intentions, but because of misinderstanding the requirements of a wild animal maturing from infant to adult. This is nothing like raising and house breaking a puppy. This animal will need a pack and want to breed, this will be instinct! Not a passing phase! These are independent thinkers, a vital trait for living in the wild, but they don't train the way domestic dogs do. They see everyday objects and things from a wild animals eyes. They will jump from great heights to escape what they see as confinment, while a domestic dog enjoys the view from the balcony. They require different food and supplements from a dog, They require large areas to run, but shouldn't be allowed to run freely due to their unpredictability, and they need to have a pack. You should not try to raise a wolf-dog, it is wrong to take on a responsibility that you are not ready or prepared to invest the time, and effort. You don't have the experience or knowledge and the animal should NOT pay the price for your lack of forsight.
