Mark McGwire, a former Major League Baseball player, is best known for his time with the Oakland Athletics and the St. Louis Cardinals. Over his 16-year career, he recorded a batting average of .263, hit 583 home runs, and amassed 1,414 runs batted in (RBIs). McGwire was a 12-time All-Star and won the American League MVP award in 1990. He is also famous for his role in the home run chase of 1998, where he broke the single-season home run record with 70 home runs.
