You need to purchase the special trans fluid for the 722.6 transmission

(approx 5 bottles)

You also need to purchase a new pan gasket and filter.

Would recommend the drain plug seal on the pan as well.

You will need a special dipstick, you can order it at the dealer for about

$60.00, or you may find it cheaper from HAZET tools.

Without it you can't do the job right

Place the vehicle securely on jackstands or if you have access to a lift

that would be best.

Remove the drain plug and let it drain until it stops,

remove the rear pan bolts(T30 Torx)

Remove the center pan bolts

Loosen the front pan bolts and remove the electrical connector shield

(You'll see it)

Then let the pan drop down to the rear and it will drain some more

fluid.

after it drains, remove pan completely.

The filter just pulls down, but be careful or you will get a shower of fluid.

after it drains, replace the filter with a new one, reinstall the pan(use the

new gasket) and reinstall the bolts, starting with the center and then

the corner bolts. gradually tighten them by hand, but don't tighten them

too tight or you will strip the threads.

reinstall your drain plug with a new seal.

go up to the top of the engine, on the S320 the dipstick cap is accessible

break the black or red tab off(red tab means it's been serviced before)

and push the piece through with a small screwdriver.

remove the cap, use a small funnel and put in approx 3 bottles of fluid

start the vehicle and put in approx 3/4 of another bottle.

Let the vehicle idle for a while or drive it a few miles to heat up the fluid.

then check it with the dipstick that you purchased, it should be pretty

close to the marks with the 80 C reading, if just below, let it warm up a bit

more and check it again, if it's still below, add just a little bit more fluid(approx the remainder of the 3/4 of the last bottle used)if it's at the 80 C mark, install the cap and lock

and you're done, don't forget to check for leaks.
