Where is the fuel pump located on a 1986 Mercedes Benz 300 E is it inside the tank?

The Fuel Pump is located under a cover just in front of the rear axle on the passenger side of the car. You will see the Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump. The Fuel Pump will have two wires coming off of it. These are quite expensive so check a wrecking yard for a pump as a way to save some money.
