How did wooly mammoth mate?

Woolly mammoths likely mated similarly to modern elephants, as they are closely related. Mating would have occurred during a specific breeding season when females were in estrus, with males competing for access to females. Courtship behaviors, such as vocalizations and physical displays, may have been part of their mating rituals.
